Technical Lead / Systems Engineer, 1999 – 2003

Managed a team of C/C++, Java, and PowerBuilder developers. Directed and oversaw a multi million dollar project from requirements gathering through client acceptance testing. Responsible for functional specification walkthroughs, code reviews, time estimates, and manpower requirements for client requested projects. Interfaced with the client on a regular bases to resolve existing issues, as well as to discuss future needs and improvements. Assigned daily activities to developers and performed year-end reviews and evaluations.  

Senior Developer, 1999 – 1999

Working in both a Windows and UNIX environment, programmed various enhancements to the NaviSys LifeCAD software. Development was performed in C using Visual C++ 5.0.  Oracle stored procedures were also created and modified.

Systems Designer, 1998 – 1999

Assisted in the design and implementation of several internal projects. Undertakings included real-time and end of day data acquisition for various charting packages offered by Dow Jones. Provided assistance to a team of developers by instructing them in various implementations of financial instruments, contract specifications, and exchange rules and regulations. Assisted in the redesign and development of a UNIX based data correction system, replacing Encina RQS queues with UNIX message queues. Designed, programmed, and implemented a Windows/NT console application that allowed customers to retrieve data from the central database. The program was written in C++ using Visual C++.

Senior Systems Programmer, 1996 – 1998

Assisted in the design and coding of the second phase of an in-house data correction utility. Also responsible for documenting both the functional requirements as well as the user manual. Assumed greater responsibilities in the maintenance, debugging, and programming of a data correction utility written in C/C++ on several HP-UX systems. The utility uses Encina RQS queues and SFS databases to maintain a dual redundant server architecture across a WAN.

Systems Programmer, 1995 – 1996

Responsible for creating an API version of FTP that would allow for the putting and fetching of a file to and from any specified directory on both the client and server. The API was coded in C and was for use under the HP-UX 10.x platform. To enhance the API-FTP, an encryption and decryption algorithm was created in C, and implemented into the FTP module so that only encrypted passwords could be found while reading the source code for our in-house correction servers.

Market Data Analyst, 1995 – 1995

As the sole person on my shift, I provided support for our Singapore and New Zealand regional offices on problems associated with the computerized data verification and correction system. Analyzed and maintained real-time worldwide market data and index products including commodities, fixed income and foreign exchange products. Responsibilities included identifying, logging, and correcting all errors associated with daily trading.

Assistant Trader / Programmer, 1991 – 1994

Assisted in the trading of commodities and bonds for a private fund. Traded the British Pound, Coffee, Crude Oil, and 10 Yr Treasury Notes. Acted as a liaison between the traders and the development staff, as the programmers developed a model based trading system. Personally developed a program to automate the general ledger processing and reconciliation with banks and brokerage firms. Assisted in the analysis of Government Bond trading practices of an opponent in litigation against a major broker-dealer. Produced reports and evidentiary materials that were presented in court.
